Wham! Bang! Pow! Let’s Rock Out! 8/10
This belated followup to 2011’s Brilliant! Tragic! comes after leader Eddie argos moved to Berlin, became a father, wrote a musical and survived a nasty bout of peritonitis. The latter is referenced on “Hospital!”, a typically ebullient ode to unstoppability and healthy living, while other recent experiences jostle for room too. like Go-Kart Mozart or Billy Childish, argos fashions lyrical witticisms from the commonplace, charting a terminally adolescent world where ex-lovers are cursed, kebab shops line the streets and falling in love is like being on Top Of The Pops (the exhilarating “she Kissed Me (and It Felt like a Hit)”).
