Blackout Cowboy 7/10

UNCUT - - New Albums - PETER WATTS

Psych oddities from Brum five-piece

Charging out of the Birmingham underground with a stack of hard-to-find physical releases and a huge bunch of songs on Bandcamp, Sunshine Frisbee laserbeam now bring us Blackout Cowboy, a thunderous epiphany of overlapping guitars and in-your-face lyrics. “all The Way Over The Edge” tackles male pride with an open mind, while “adult Memory Oww” is an absolute cannonball of a tune and “MK Ultra” combines personal politics with Pavement. There’s a whisper of Supergrass on the title track, but generally the vibe is more psych, with a trace of King Gizzard in their generally promiscuous approach to making noise.
