Paul Curcio was a founder member of The Mojo Men, the Bay Area quartet who scored a US Top 40 hit in 1967 with a cover of Buffalo Springfiel­d’s “Sit Down, i Think i love You”. Curcio went on to set up the Pacific Recording studio, site of Santana’s first album and the Grateful Dead’s Aoxomoxoa, before achieving immortalit­y in thrash metal circles by producing Metallica’s 1983 debut, Kill ’Em All, at his own Music America studio in new York.
