The Muffs frontwoman (1963–2019)

Singer/guitarist Kim Shattuck formed LA punk-rockers The Muffs in 1991, initially in tandem with her ex-bandmate in The Pandoras, Melanie Vammen. As primary songwriter, she led the band through an on-off career that yielded seven albums, the latest being this year’s No Holiday, overseen by Shattuck while fighting motor neurone disease. She also briefly joined the Pixies for their 2013 European tour.
