LARRY JUNSTROM

Lynyrd Skynyrd bassist (1949–2019)

Alongside schoolfriends Ronnie Van Zant, Gary Rossington, Allen Collins and Bob Burns, Larry Junstrom co-founded My Backyard – soon to become Lynyrd Skynyrd – in 1964. He was with them for seven years, before being replaced by Leon Wilkeson. In 1977 he joined fellow Southern rockers .38 Special, where he remained until a hand injury forced him to quit in 2014.
