We need a U-turn, not a 12-point turn

-

BEING a resident sandwiched between many schools my road is infested each morning and evening with parents transporting children.

Parking near these schools has been regulated by yellow lines which are joyously ignored – with no apparent concern about clogging the narrow roads of Charville Lane, Pole Hill Road, Bury Avenue and Langdale Drive.

On my way home one day, I foolishly, went by this way. Besides being held up in an almost stationary line I was treated by three or four parents having picked up their child they then proceeded to do many point turns to go back down the way they had come causing more hold ups and forcing other drivers to give way in case their vehicle is damaged by these selfish people.

I feel for the residents of these roads. Another very busy road also subjected to more selfish people is Yeading Lane.

If only the traffic wardens were more interested. They could achieve their targets or make a fortune for their employers.

I get so irritated with these people taking their idle children to school.

There are several double deck school buses catering for the schools in the area.

Children enjoy free travel and should learn that there are alternative ways of travel. All these are easily accessible with a little planning or thought.
