Looking for loving homes

- Milly Appeal for Roman’s life-changing surgery

Ginger is a rather special little bunny – not just on account of the beautiful coat colour from which he takes his name, but also because he only has 3 ½ legs. Sadly, part of one his hind legs is missing, though this certainly doesn’t stop him from getting about and enjoying life just like any other rabbit.

However, he will need that extra little bit of care to ensure his leg stump doesn’t get sore.

Ginger is just under six months old and such a sweet little boy who deserves a home that is as special as he is. If you are interested in offering a home and lifelong love and care to Ginger, or any of the other lovely rabbits currently in our care, please do contact us.

Sweet Milly was brought into our care by a member of the public who realised she had been injured. Investigation showed that one of her hind legs had suffered a fracture but as the break had gone untreated for some considerable time, even following care from our vets Milly will always have a slightly unusual gait. She may also develop arthritis in that leg in later life.

Despite everything, Milly has a very kind and affectionate nature – she just loves head and chin rubs.

Given the distressing time she’s had and that she’s only about six months old, it’s no wonder she’s very shy with strangers and it does take her a while to trust new people.

She will need an experienced home, where she will be given the time and space she needs to get settled and regain her confidence. Could you help Milly overcome her sad past and offer her a future of love, comfort and happiness? Handsome one year old English Bulldog Roman came into our care suffering from multiple health issues.

For some time he has endured significant skin, eye and respiratory problems and our vets have advised that to give him viable long-term quality of life, he requires surgery for bilateral eye entropion (inverted eyelids), tail amputation and soft palate correction.

The estimated cost of the operations, medication and aftercare is around £2000 but we’re determined that whatever it takes, this beautiful big bouncy boy should be given every possible chance.

Roman has such a kind nature, loves everyone and has become a huge favourite with all of us. Our animal welfare staff are working on special fundraising for Roman but there’s a long way to go. So we’re sorry to be asking again for your help, particularly at this time of year when there are other financial priorities but if you could spare just a little towards Roman’s treatment, we’d be so grateful.

Surgery is planned for the New Year when other issues have been dealt with.

We recognise that due to his short-nosed breed type, anaesthesia presents a higher risk to Roman than most but hope that we can see him through to a full recovery and that we will be able to find him a wonderful new bulldog-savvy home in 2019. Thank you so much for anything you can do to help.
