POLICE CALLED TO DEAL WITH MAN ACTING ‘AGGRESSIVELY’ IN HAYES
A MAN has been detained after he allegedly became “aggressive” inside a shop in Hayes.
Staff at a convenience store in Coldharbour Lane called police at 8pm on Thursday June 6 to report a man had been “acting aggressively”.
Officers from the Metropolitan Police attended and detained a man.
Witnesses reported at the time that they believed a person was stabbed near to the Sainsbury’s Local store.
One woman told MyLondon: “Massive crime scene Coldharbour Lane, Hayes.
“Think someone has been stabbed and is on the floor with around 12 officers aiding.”
An employee at Manoo Superstore, in the same road, added: “I don’t know what happened but there are police down the other end [of Coldharbour Lane].
“I just saw police outside but I’m not sure why.”
Scotland Yard later confirmed that no stabbing took place.
A Met spokesperson said: “Police were called to Coldharbour Lane in Hayes at 8.01pm on Thursday, June 6 following reports of a man acting aggressively towards staff in a shop.
“Officers attended and a man was detained.”
