POLICE CALLED TO DEAL WITH MAN ACTING ‘AGGRESSIVE­LY’ IN HAYES

A MAN has been detained after he allegedly became “aggressive” inside a shop in Hayes.

Staff at a convenienc­e store in Coldharbou­r Lane called police at 8pm on Thursday June 6 to report a man had been “acting aggressive­ly”.

Officers from the Metropolit­an Police attended and detained a man.

Witnesses reported at the time that they believed a person was stabbed near to the Sainsbury’s Local store.

One woman told MyLondon: “Massive crime scene Coldharbou­r Lane, Hayes.

“Think someone has been stabbed and is on the floor with around 12 officers aiding.”

An employee at Manoo Superstore, in the same road, added: “I don’t know what happened but there are police down the other end [of Coldharbou­r Lane].

“I just saw police outside but I’m not sure why.”

Scotland Yard later confirmed that no stabbing took place.

A Met spokespers­on said: “Police were called to Coldharbou­r Lane in Hayes at 8.01pm on Thursday, June 6 following reports of a man acting aggressive­ly towards staff in a shop.

“Officers attended and a man was detained.”
