Terrified about kids’ safety after shooting in cul-de-sac

-

AN UXBRIDGE resident has said they are a ‘prisoner in their own home’ after a man was shot.

Police were called to the scene in Kew Close, Uxbridge on Monday June 3, just before 6.30pm and remained at the scene nearly 24 hours later.

A man, who police believe is aged around 40 had been shot and was rushed by paramedics to a Central London hospital. His condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

A local resident, who wishes to remain anonymous, has said they fear for their children’s safety.

“My kids can’t even attend school for safety reasons,” they said.

“We’ve been prisoners in our own home.

“We are all terrified.”

The worried parent claims that there has been a series of incidents in the residential street such as fights and assaults.

Describing the scene of the shooting, they said: “One guy was on the floor and everything was cordoned off. No cars or pedestrians were allowed in or out. Forensics and sniffer dogs were here last night.”

Police have since left Kew Close.
