Businessma­n dies after being ‘trapped’ under his own car

BUSINESS owner who died following a “dispute” outside his restaurant in Hounslow has been named locally.

Manmeet Singh, 44, was found “trapped under his own vehicle” when emergency services were called to Heston Road, outside Passage To India, at 9pm on Saturday November 23.

Despite efforts from paramedics, the businessma­n was pronounced dead at the scene at 9.39pm.

Detectives have launched an investigat­ion and at this stage believe Mr Singh was “possibly involved in a dispute with the occupant of another vehicle” before he died.

Reports on social media suggest two men were “seen fighting” before police arrived, although this has not been confirmed.

Police say they are keeping an “open mind” as to how he died.

A man arrested on suspicion of murder has been bailed pending further inquiries.

Images taken by witnesses at the time of the incident show a heavy emergency service response on Heston Road, outside Passage To India, Heston.

One witness said a forensic tent was put up near to the Indian restaurant, while the road was closed for a number of hours

Detective sergeant Patrick Enright, from West Area CID based in Acton, said: “We are keeping an open mind as to how this incident came about and are looking to piece together the detailed circumstan­ces of events.

“At the moment these are very unclear.

“We would appeal for any members of the public or witnesses to come forward with informatio­n that can help assist us in this process.”
