A WEST London mum and her two sons have been convicted of becoming “violent” towards police in Feltham, with one officer being punched in the face.

On Saturday July 4, Met Police officers on patrol in Burlington Close, Feltham, spoke to Ali Salman, 25, and detained him for the purpose of a search.

However, he resisted and had to be restrained before being arrested for obstructing police.

Ali was then joined at the scene by brother Hassan, 28, and their mum Souzana, 46, who both became “violent towards officers”.

During the incident, Hassan punched an officer in the face, causing his glasses to break.

Both he and his mum were arrested for assaulting police.

All three, who live in Spinney Drive, Feltham, were charged with the offences they were arrested for and pleaded guilty at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court on Thursday October 1.

Ali received a six-month conditional discharge for obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty and was ordered to pay fines and costs of £107.

Souzana received a 12-month conditional discharge for two counts of assaulting police, with fines and costs of £107.

Hassan received a six month conditional discharge for assaulting police, with fines and costs of £107. He was also ordered to pay £100 compensation in relation to the criminal damage to the police officer’s glasses.

PC Andrew Davies, dedicated ward officer for Bedfont, said after the hearing: “Residents complain

about antisocial behaviour on a regular basis and we respond by regularly patrolling the area.

“Being assaulted on duty is something that no officer should have to deal with whilst doing their job.

“This will not deter the SNT patrolling the area and anyone involved in ASB will be dealt with accordingly.

“We work with partners, colleagues and members of the public to tackle ASB which is a ward priority, this court result shows how seriously the courts take assaults on officers and is a deterrent to anyone else who thinks it’s acceptable.”
