Nightclub shut after stabbing
POLICE AND COUNCIL CLOSE CIRCA LOCA AFTER THREE MEN WERE INJURED
A WEST London nightclub has been shut down by police following a triple stabbing at the venue.
Officers announced the closure of Circa Loca on Hounslow High Street on Tuesday, May 3.
This comes after three men were knifed inside the nightclub in the early hours of Sunday, March 20.
The Metropolitan Police and the London Ambulance Service were called to the venue at 4.19am, responding to reports of disturbance.
They attended and found three men suffering stab wounds. A 26-year-old man had been stabbed in the leg, a second man, 21, was stabbed in the back and an 18-yearold man had been cut in his leg.
All three were taken to local London hospitals, but their injuries were not deemed lifechanging.
Crime scenes and road closures were put in place and remained in place the following day Monday, March 21 – but there have still been no arrests made in relation to the incident.
West Area Licensing Team applied for a review of the premise licence of Circa Loca Nightclub under the licensing Act 2003, where the team presented evidence of management failings and a disregard of licensing conditions.
According to the Met, evidence revealed substandard CCTV, and partygoers were not searched on entry. There was also evidence of the breach of licensing hours with with management and security passively standing by when violent disorder broke out.
Hounslow Licensing Authority agreed with the case and the decision was made to revoke the premises licence.
In the aftermath of the triple stabbing, residents and shopkeepers in the borough told MyLondon at the time that the area “was not safe” and was plagued with shoplifters.
They said antisocial behaviour and crime were common around the high street and had been for a number of years. Meanwhile, the Met reported that it was targeting drugs dealers and other criminals in the area to drive down crime.
