AMOC CONCOURS AND BONHAMS SALE COMBINE FOR TWO-DAY SPECTACULAR
News of a spectacular weekend for all Aston Martin enthusiasts
ENGLEFIELD HOUSE in Berkshire will host a spectacular weekend of Aston Martin-related activity over the weekend of June 2-3. The annual Bonhams Aston Martin Sale – for many years hosted by Aston Martin Works in Newport Pagnell – will be held in the grounds of the stately home on the Saturday, June 2, with the club’s prestigious Concours D’etat taking place on the Sunday.
Marc Aylott, AMOC club secretary, said: ‘Staging the Concours D’etat and Bonhams auction over the same weekend offers the perfect opportunity for our global membership to gather together with our UK members and the public to enjoy two wonderful world-class Aston Martin events, while enjoying the backdrop of the wonderful Tudor-era Englefield House and its beautiful surrounding gardens and woodland.’
Other attractions will include a special display by the Aston Martin Heritage Trust showcasing the V12 Vanquish model. The display will include the one-off Project Vantage concept car that’s featured on page 88 of this magazine and which led to the now legendary Vanquish. The whole event is open to all Aston enthusiasts – visit www.amoc.org for more details.
AMOC MEMBERS have plenty more to look forward to in 2018, including a number of trackdays. One highlight will be the day at Blyton Park on Friday June 22, giving members a chance to safely explore the performance of their cars at this excellent facility, with expert tuition on hand for those who’d like it.
Meanwhile, the official AMOC racing series continues to be one of the best club-level racing series in the UK, offering friendly but competitive racing for both novice and experienced drivers of many different iconic marques, and from historic classics through to modern, power- packed GTS. The season kicks off at Oulton Park on May 12, and concludes with the St John Horsfall meeting at Silverstone in October.
Members will also be able to enjoy two organised trips to Le Mans this summer. The first is for the 24 Hours, which this year is over the weekend of June 16-17, with special camping and ticket packages available through partner 1st Tickets (more details at www.1st-tickets.co.uk).
Firmly established as a highlight of the AMOC social calendar, the club’s Le Mans Classic experience is back for 2018 (July 6-8). Members can benefit from a champagne reception, inner-circuit hospitality, a track parade and inner- and outer-circuit camping options, both just a few minutes’ walk from the track. More at amoc.org or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Another superb event is the Silverstone Classic in July, and again, ticket packages and infield parking will be available.
