Cauldron Foods announces carbon neutral commitment

-

One of Britain’s leading vegan food brands, Cauldron Foods (cauldronfoods.co.uk), has achieved an exciting 100 per cent carbon neutral certification across its full range of products. The new certification follows research by Cauldron Foods, which investigated the UK’s attitudes towards helping the planet. The important research highlighted that it is a topic that matters a great deal to people, because three out of five have implemented New Year’s resolutions to minimise their carbon footprint. Nearly half of respondents list their diet as something they will consider changing in 2022 to reduce their carbon footprint, second only to energy consumption at 59 per cent. Moreover, a third of people understand and monitor the carbon footprint of their diet.

Tom Lindley, Cauldron business unit head at Cauldron Foods, comments: “Whilst our plant-based foods have always been better for the planet, we’re continually striving to minimise the impact we have on our environment, and we were interested to see how receptive the nation are to that too. It’s heartening to see from our research that a huge 70 per cent of people said the origin of a food product has an impact on their purchasing decision and they would choose differently if they knew it had an adverse impact on the planet. Two thirds said that if they were aware that eating a plant-based diet positively impacts your carbon footprint they would certainly be prepared to swap some meals or foods for more plant-based foods. This shows there is a real appetite for making more conscious choices about how what we eat affects the environment. That’s why we’re proud to be launching 100 per cent carbon neutral certification across our full range of products.”
