DAY-LEWIS TO PLAY FENTON DOG MAN
THE ACADEMY Award-winning actor DANIEL DAY-LEWIS is set to star in a new Hollywood biopic about That Man From The Fenton The Dog YouTube Video. The film, working title Fenton!, will be released in cinemas summer 2019, and is to be directed by Tinseltown heavyweight STEVEN SPIELBERG.
Speaking at a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival yesterday, Day-Lewis, 60, described the biopic as a “long-time passion project” and told reporters he was “humbled and thrilled” to be embarking on what he called “the biggest challenge of my career”.
resonates
“The story of that man who chased after his dog whilst shouting ‘Jesus Christ’ is a story that resonates with all ages, races, colours and creeds,” the actor told reporters. “I feel truly honoured, grateful and inspired to finally be bringing this remarkable tale to the big screen.”
Day-Lewis, who has three times received the Academy Award for Best Actor, went on to reveal that he would also be employing his infamous ‘method acting’ technique for this new biopic.
oscillates
“In order to really get inside the skin of That Man From The Fenton The Dog YouTube Video, I will be undertaking a rigorous training regime,” he told Empire magazine.
“I’ll chase various types of canine across various different outdoor spaces to get into ‘the zone’. At present, I am still mastering the basics, such as how to run after a poodle across a fivea-side pitch, but within a few weeks I hope to be pursuing a fully grown Saint Bernard over a Tough Mudder race course, whilst screaming desperate, blasphemous obscenities.”
swings
Director Steven Spielberg was quick to praise Day-Lewis’s commitment and zeal for the new project.
“This is the role Daniel was born to play,” Spielberg told the Clacton
Herald and Post. “In the past, he has played a disabled painter, an iconic US president and a murderous 19th Century oil baron. But all these parts have been a mere build-up to him running around Richmond Park, waving his arms and swearing.”
