Are You Being Served? and the Royal Family

Two Great British institutions – one a comical farce filled with ridiculous characters that has kept the whole country laughing for years … the other a seventies sitcom set in the clothing department of a fictional West End store. This exquisitely decorated collectors’ plate asks the question that is on all our minds – What would happen if the staff of Grace Brothers were somehow employed to look after the reclusively randy royal during his self-imposed exile?

Here we see His Royal Highness graciously taking receipt of a writ in his hideaway castle, as a lawyer working for the victims of his former vague acquaintance – notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein – serves legal papers on him. It’s a whimsical scene imbued with a delightful mix of regal drama and charming humour, as Andrew’s band of comical servants – fresh from their previous employment at Grace Brothers – gather round to see what all the fuss is about.

He’s ninth in line to the throne, but first in line for a subpoena

All your favourite characters from Grace Brothers are here – ageing retainer Mr Grainger, camp footman Mr Humphries, haughty housekeeper Mrs Slocombe, jug-eared valet Mr Rumbold, cheeky chauffeur Mr Lucas, overbearing butler Captain Peacock and saucy housemaid Miss Brahms – as “too-honourable”™ Young Mr Windsor’s questionable past catches up with him at long last!
