‘I’M NOT YOUR TYPICAL WAG’
S HE may be set to return to the small screen sipping champagne on a luxury yacht but Jude Cissé insists she’s not a stereotypical WAG. The Anglesey-born TV personality, who was married to former France and Liverpool football star Djibril, says while she enjoys the finer things in life, she has worked hard to achieve them.
The single mother is the subject of new S4C series Jude Cissé: Y WAG ar Wyliau (The WAG on Holiday), which will follow her on her travels to Mallorca, Crufts, London Fashion Week and Marrakech.
Jude, who has three children with Champions League winner Djibril, is now single and the series sets out to document her new life. Jude said: “I wouldn’t say I’m glamorous or a stereotypical WAG because I wouldn’t know what a stereotypical WAG is. When I first met Djibril there was no such thing. The term was only invented during the 2006 World Cup when all of the England players’ wives had all that publicity around them.
“I have always had nice things, and always worked hard for the nice things, so I wouldn’t say I’m happy with being called a WAG.
“It doesn’t really bother me when people call me one, because I’ve been called far worse, but I wouldn’t say I’m a real WAG.”
Jude, who was born and broughtt up in Rhostrehwfa near Llangefni, said: “I’veI’ve always been someone who likes nice things, but I didn’t wake up one morning andd think to myself that I needed to find a rich husband. usband. I’ve worked hard to get to where I am now.”
The programme follows Jude as she he relaxes with friends in Mallorca, sunbathing, thing, shopping and drinking champagne in a luxurious villa and on a lavish yacht.
Jude, who divorced from Djibril two years ago, admitted: “I do have a fetishtish for shoes and designer bags – I love ove Christian Louboutin and I’m always in five-inch heels.”
The series also sees her show off her er Marrakech villa and goes on set as OK! K! magazine calls in for a photoshoot.
But Jude said: “It’s not easy being a single mum. There are 365 days in the e year and that programme was onlyly filmed over a certain number of them.”m.”
