- JAY BAYFORD sport@walesonline.co.uk

BONYMAEN extended their lead at the top of One West Central to two points with a bonus-point 31-5 victory over struggling Kenfig Hill.

Laurence Thomas, Kyle Salter, Ian Brooks, Nathan Eager and Tristan Herdman all crashed over to ensure the leaders took maximum points, with Richard Cuniffe adding three conversions.

Jack Matthews crossed the whitewash for Kenfig Hill, who have lost ten of their last 11 league games, but he couldn’t prevent Bonymaen extending their winning run in the league to five games.

Aberavon Quins, who started the day one point behind Bonymaen, secured a narrow 16-15 win at Ammanford, but their failure to earn a bonus point saw Bonymaen edge a little further away from them in the table.

Steve Cerasuolo crashed over twice with Mark Shepherd kicking two penalties to seal the win. Andrew Owen and Michael Owen bagged Ammanford’s tries with Lee Davies booting five points.

Kidwelly and Llanelli Wanderers both won to pull away from the rest of the pack in One West.

Kidwelly kept their two-point lead over Llanelli Wanderers with a 24-19 home success over Waunarl- wydd. Gareth Rees and Chris Eldred both crashed over with Rees booting 14 points.

But Waunarlwydd made Kidwelly work for the win as the hosts finished the game with 13 men and had to resist a series of late attacks to claim the win.

Llanelli Wanderers kept pressure on the leaders with a 21-10 win over third-placed Aberystwyth. Dafydd Daniel, Daniel Griffiths and Elgan Morgan all went over but they couldn’t come up with a fourth touch down to claim a bonus-point win. Jonathan George added six points with his boot.

In One North, Nant Conwy maintained their seven-point gap over Pwllheli with a comprehensive 55-0 victory over basement boys Abergele.

Jack Moriarty and Steffan Horan were both at the double with Gwion Ellis-Jones, Carwyn Ellis, Ifan Hughes and Carwyn Davies adding further tries. The referee also awarded the leaders a penalty try with Cai Jones kicking five conversions to complete the scoring.

But Pwlhelli remain right behind Nant Conwy as they also recorded a bonus-point win with a 28-12 win at Cobra.

Meanwhile, there are new leaders in One East with Nelson taking advantage of Rhydyfelin’s slip up to go top following their 23-15 win at Risca.

Rhydyfelin, who boasted a 100 per cent winning record before kick off, went down 23-15 to thirdplaced Penallta. Elliot Keep and Lloyd Rowlands both went over for Penallta with Joseph Scrivens booting two conversions and three penalties.

And Rhydyfelin couldn’t find enough to fight back with Dai Gratton scoring all of their points, including two tries.

Treorchy moved 12 points clear at the top of One East Central with an important 22-15 win in the topof-the-table clash with Mountain Ash.

Josh Clark and Jacob Lloyd both went over, along with a penalty try, to set Treorchy on their way to victory.

Jordan Lloyd kicked the rest of the points as Treorchy took full control of the title race.

Will Holley was on a one-man mission for Mountain Ash as he scored all of their points through two tries, a conversion and a penalty.
