DIVISION One high flyers Goytre crashed to a surprise 4-3 home defeat to Ton Pentre yesterday.

A brace of goals from Liam Reed led the Ton Pentre goal tally with Andre Griffiths and Sam Small also on target, while Aaron Garrett, Josh Brown and Lewis Summers were on target for Goytre.

Penybont were comfortabl­e 5-2 victors over Cwmbran Celtic with goals from Callum Kinsella, Marcus Griffiths, Adam Carpenter and Joe Hopkins (2), while Celtic replied through a brace from Callum Wakcham.

Barry Town United had a good day, winning 3-0 at Risca United with Paul Morgan, Luke Cooper and TJ Nagi on target.

A goal in each half from Sascha Walters and Craig Davies gave Afan Lido a 2-1 triumph at Monmouth Town, who replied through Craig Lewis, while Taffs Well were 3-0 winners at Cambrian & Clydach and Undy Athletic beat Gwent rivals Caldicot Town 3-0.

Former Swansea City star Lee Trundle continued his rich vein of goalscorin­g as he scored a brace for Division Two side Llanelli Town in a 5-0 thumping of Newport City at Stebonheat­h Park.

Jordan Follows also netted a brace for the Reds, with James Loveridge scoring the other Llanelli goal.

Briton Ferry Llansawel were also 5-0 victors over visiting AFC Llwydcoed, Steve Hughes scoring a brace of goals with others coming from Ian Hillier, Rob Cam and Ryan Kostromin.

Meanwhile, Pontypridd Town beat Pontardawe Town 3-1 with goals coming from Tom Rutherford, Adam Johns and a Rhodri Dykes own goal, while Rob Shannon netted a consolatio­n from the spot for the visitors.
