Train passengers warned of disruption to services
A NUMBER of train services in Cardiff and the surrounding area are affected this weekend due to engineering works being carried out by Network Rail.
Network Rail is carrying out engineering work on all Valley line services.
A statement on the Arriva Trains Wales website said: “At times it is unavoidable that Network Rail infrastructure improvement works may affect some of our services, meaning alterations to the scheduled timetables. Arriva Trains Wales and Network Rail apologise for any inconvenience that these temporary alterations may cause.”
Passengers intending to travel are advised to inquire before starting their journey for full details of altered trains, onward connections and additional road transport.

Services affected today: all day buses replace trains between Cardiff at www. Central and Barry Island/Bridgend via Rhoose; until noon rail replacement buses will run between Rhymney and Cardiff Central; trains between Treherbert/Aberdare/Merthyr Tydfil and Cardiff Central are diverted to run via Ninian Park. Rail replacement buses will run between Radyr and Cardiff Central via Cathays; afternoon trains between Treherbert/Aberdare/Merthyr Tydfil and Cardiff Central are diverted to run to/from Cardiff Bay via Cardiff Queen Street; no trains will run between Cardiff Central and Penarth. Customers should use local buses between Cardiff Central and Penarth.
