Dean Marcus Jones The violent drug user was handed a 17-and-a-half-year sentence for killing his lawyer girlfriend at their Swansea home.

Swansea Crown Court heard Jones tried to flee the scene by climbing out of a window and down a fire escape into a rear yard but was caught by police.

Iain James Clarke The police officer was jailed for five years after raping a woman while his own wife slept in an adjoining room.

Clarke, 48, was sentenced at Mold Crown Court. He was sacked after a conduct hearing by North Wales Police.

Lauren Jeska The former champion fell-runner, from Machynllet­h, was jailed for 18 years after admitting attempted murder following a row about her test samples.

Lauren Jeska was jailed at Birmingham Crown Court for the attempted murder of UK Athletics official Ralph Knibbs.

Simon Pinch and Lucas Williams The pair were jailed for their roles in a “sophistica­ted” cannabis factory in Penarth where they cultivated dozens of plants.

Drugs gang Members of a drugs gang who plotted to flood South Wales with £1m of class A drugs were jailed for a total of more than 50 years.

Cardiff Crown Court was told police uncovered a “profession­al, well-organised drug supply gang operating in South Wales and that when vehicles were followed, the source led them to the north-west of England.

Said Yusuf and Hussein Mursal The two Cardiff drug dealers, who crashed their van and got stuck as they tried to get away from police, were jailed for a total of nine years.

The 26-year-olds were spotted by plain-clothed officers who saw them dealing drugs from their silver Berlingo mini van in the Roath area of the city.

Richard Taylor A mother was left terrified after Taylor approached her with a knife threatenin­g to kill her while she fastened her daughter into the car.
