Gareth Rusby-Davies, Ben Parry and Callum Davies got the tries to spark the celebrations at Pontypool Park with Matthew Jones adding a conversion and two penalties.

But, due to the three-year ringfence around the Premiership, Pontypool will be playing their rugby in the Championship again next term.

Cardiff Met gave their survival hopes another massive boost after they recorded a 19-10 victory at Bedlinog.

Ben Holt scored for the Students, with Tyler Williams converting as well as booting four penalties.

Bedlinog are now nervously looking over their shoulders, with this result leaving them just four points above the drop zone with two games to play.

Newbridge remain in the bottom two and are four points off safety with two matches to play after they were defeated 18-14 at Glynneath.

Treorchy maintained their charge towards the title in One East Central with a 50-0 victory over Heol y Cyw.

Rhys Gillard’s brace along with two penalty tries and scores from Tristan Lazarus, Rob Jones, Jacob Lloyd and Declan Williams earned the Zebras a comprehensive victory – with Lloyd also booting five conversions.

However, Ystrad Rhondda, who have a game in hand on Treorchy, remain seven points behind after their 41-15 home victory over Rumney.

Thomas Jevons, Ryan Howells, Aaron Clarke, Cole Swanack, Liam Wiggins and Adam Lewis (2) were the Ystrad try scorers with Rhys Truelove banging over three conversions.

In One West Central, tries from Nathan Holman and Griff Davies helped earn Bridgend Athletic a 17-6 win at Maesteg to go top, with Luke Bevan adding two conversions and a penalty.

Ruthless Ruthin were the big winners of the day throughout the National Leagues as they racked up an unbelievable 21 tries in a 133-7 mauling of Abergele in One North.
