Wales On Sunday

How they rated

- BY CHRIS WATHAN

ALLAN MCGREGOR

Didn’t appear to get close to either of Batth’s goals but neither did he command his area. Will be embarrassed by how he was beaten by Costa.

JAZZ RICHARDS

One of the few who looked sharp having been away with Wales last week. Had more chance to get forward and looked good doing it, though did leave some spaces behind.

SEAN MORRISON (CAPT)

Struggled in the set-up and was beaten by Batth in an area you expect the Cardiff captain to excel in.

SOL BAMBA

Played in the anchor role but was turned too many times by a ball behind and often was caught playing catch-up. Still offered key influence and calmness at times, but not as solid as Cardiff need him.

BRUNO MANGA

His first start since the beginning of January following knee ligament problem and – one or two hiccups aside – made some very telling contributions to remind of his quality.

JOE BENNETT

Restricted in opening half and was overrun at times after the break. Didn’t look comfortable all afternoon.

ARON GUNNARSSON

Not as all-action as can be and was clearly frustrated as he threw hands in air. Really should have buried big first-half chance.

JOE RALLS

Had started with a bit more spark than many of his teammates but was also loose with passing at times and was subbed after a yellow card for a late challenge on Lee Evans.

KADEEM HARRIS

A couple of driving runs but not enough with any telling final ball. Touch was off.

JUNIOR HOILETT

For a player supposedly trying to show he should stay and be part of Neil Warnock’s plans, he has a funny way of showing it. Control, execution, work-rate all very poor.
