PEMBROKESH­IRE Cricket League leaders Carew went down to a six-wicket defeat at Cresselly yesterday.

Carew batted first and made 250-7 before a magnificen­t 118 from Adam Chandler and 52 not out from Simon Cole led Cresselly to 252-4.

Johnston thumped visitors Pembroke by 152 runs after batting first and posting 283-8, Dan Sutton hitting a brilliant 128 with Colin James taking 3-38.

Pembroke were then skittled out for just 131, Lee Summons taking 3-24.

Lawrenny and visitors Kilgetty fought out a draw after Lawrenny batted first and made 216-9, Harry Thomas scoring 50.

Kilgetty were 123-5 at the close with Ryan Morton taking 2-9.

Neyland beat visitors Whitland by 29 runs after batting first and posting a total of 2156, Sean Hannon making a brilliant 167 not out with Matthew Davies taking 3-40. Despite 52 from Wayne Howells Whitland were then bowled out for 186, Andrew Miller doing most of the damage with 5-49.

St Ishmaels and Haverfordw­est fought out a draw after St Ishmaels batted first and made a total of 204-6, Phil Cockburn scoring 76 with Adam James taking 3-63.

Haverfordw­est were then 186-7 at the close, Simon Holliday top scoring with 46 while Andrew Pawlett finished with the impressive figures of 5-44.

In Division Two, Haverfordw­est went down by six wickets at home to Llangwm who bowled out the home side for 114 before making 115-4.
