Name: Daniel Minty Age: 28 From? Blackwood What are you doing at the festival? I’m a DJ on Worthy FM. What does your job entail? Presenting a radio show on the station from 10am-midday every day called The Brunch Club. It also entails walking around the festival site putting together features, interviewing bands, festival-goers and people working at Glastonbury, and giving a real flavour of what’s going on to those both on site but also to an outside audience who want to know what’s going on who are listening in online via www. worthyfm.com How many hours do you have to work? Five or six hours a day, I’d say, – which includes the show, putting together a playlist and the interviews we’ve recorded. How did you get the gig at Worthy FM? I was a student in Bristol and was station manager at the uni’s radio station Hub FM. I saw an ad for DJs at Worthy FM. I didn’t think I stood a chance but put a little demo together, sent it off and was thrilled when they got back to me and said congratulations you’re now working for Worthy FM. It’s been four years I’ve been doing it now and I love it. What’s the vibe like there at the moment? The vibe is great. We’ve just had a smattering of rain and a little drizzle, but it’s been sunshine all week and people are having the best time. The overall vibe is that everybody is really excited about what they’re going to see and experience here and everybody has a smile on their face. What do you love about Glastonbury? There’s roughly about 200,000 people here and it’s like you know every single one of them. It is a community unparalleled to anything I’ve ever seen. What are you looking forward to seeing? It’s imperative that as DJs that we do go out and talk about what we’ve seen and reflect what the audience listening may be thinking so we can feed our experiences into our shows. What has been your favourite moment so far? It happened on Friday night. I saw Radiohead for the third time – the last time was 10 years ago – and it was a set that I’m never going to forget anytime soon. I had goosebumps and I’m not ashamed to admit I was weeping a little bit. Name: Andrew Cooper Age: 22 From? Merthyr Tydfil (also plays drums in Merthyr band Local Enemy) What are you doing at the festival? Working at the Pyramid Stage. What does your job entail? We were unloading the Radiohead set, setting down their equipment, I was told we were only doing Radiohead, but when we got here they said we were setting up The Foo Fighters’ gear. Being one of my favourite bands, it was quality, I even got to carry Dave Grohl’s own guitar onto the stage. How many hours do you have to work? We only had to work six but due to The Foo Fighters’ equipment coming in late we had to work a few more. What’s the vibe like there at the moment? Bouncing! Everyone is just having a class time. It’s one of the best atmospheres I’ve ever been part of. What do you love about Glastonbury? Its just a festival where no one cares and leaves all their inhibitions in the house. Everyone just goes there for the music and a good time and they’re not afraid of a bit of mud. What are you looking forward to seeing? We caught a few Radiohead songs, but that was about it, really, they sounded mega, though. We missed Royal Blood, though, unfortunately. I would have loved to have heard their new stuff live. What has been your favourite moment so far? It has to be meeting Noel Gallagher (below left with Andrew, pictured right). He turned up out of nowhere with two bottles of Becks in his hands and was just about able to talk. What a nice bloke, though. He had time for everyone and was really down to earth, so to have a couple of words with him is something I’ll never forget. Name: Joshua Sinclair Age: 21 From? Barry What are you doing at the festival? FOH sound technician for the Rabbit Hole stage. What does your job entail? My job entails looking after the sound system for bands, shouting at bands, being an information kiosk seems to be a thing, people are often looking for a secret hole and assume I’ve got the answer! How many hours do you have to work? My hours are 12- hour shifts, 11am-11pm with a little 10 minutes to grab some lunch, usually between changeovers. What’s the vibe like there at the moment? The vibe is great here. I’d love to come as a punter. It seems like a proper family orientated festival – obviously until after 11pm. What do you love about Glastonbury? I love the weird and wonderful things you see walking around, especially after hours. Like some guy running down the Glastonbury sign hill, his legs couldn’t catch up with him and he went rolling down for a while. That was amusing. What are you looking forward to seeing? I’d love to go and see Liam Gallagher, and The Bootleg Beatles with an orchestra as they are playing the entirety of Sgt Pepper. What has been your favourite moment so far? My favourite moment was definitely the guy falling down the hill. It was quite mad. Name: Grace Hartrey Age: 23 From? Dinas Powys What are you doing at the festival? I played on Croissant Neuf Bandstand on Friday night, which was my first time playing Glastonbury. How did your gig go? The gig was great fun. It was a real small stage so it was a proper homely feel, small crowd but they were all singing along and were really into it. What do you love about Glastonbury? The best thing about
