Are doing at the festival...

-

it is getting to meet all these amazing people. What are you looking forward to seeing? I get so much time off to see the festival! I saw First Aid Kit, who were just incredible. What has been your favourite moment so far? My favourite moment so far has to be playing Glastonbury itself. That’s been my dream since I was small, and I’ll certainly want to play again. Name: Scott Mckeon Age: 30 From? Caldicot/Cardiff What are you doing at the festival? Playing in indie folk band Rusty Shackle. What does it entail? Making noises with a fiddle and a tenor banjo with my mates on various stages spread over the weekend. What’s the best thing about your job? Seeing fans from all over the country choosing to come to a set of ours over big famous artists. What’s the vibe like there at the moment? I’m writing this at 2am Friday night/Saturday morning and a light drizzle of rain has begun but it has not changed a thing. There’s a really upbeat feel to the festival with the flames of Arcadia lighting up the whole sky every few minutes. What do you love about Glastonbury? Having attended and played a fair few festivals over the years there really isn’t anything that rivals Glasto. It covers EVERY angle. Whatever your taste there is something for you musically and failing that there is so much else to do. This is my fourth time and I’m still finding areas that I had no idea existed. What are you looking forward to seeing? Our sets are all late night so we’ve had most days off to catch some music. So far I’ve loved Seth Lakeman, Hot 8 Brass Band and the surprise set from Elbow on the Park stage. What has been your favourite moment so far? We’ve played two gigs so far (one more to come) and they have both been unbelievable. Name: Joshua Rich Age: 22 From: Cardiff What are you doing at the festival? I’m working as a barman. I got the job as apart of a volunteering programme with the homeless charity Shelter. What does it entail? I’m working three eight-hour shifts over three days on the Park Bar. It’s non-stop, but it’s great keeping the punters happy and there’s a really good vibe. There’s been no trouble. Everyone is just having a good time and it’s been brilliant meeting lots of weird and wonderful people. What’s the best thing about your job? The good community of people who I’ve been working with, hearing people’s stories of what they’ve been up to at Glastonbury and soaking up the atmosphere. What do you love about Glastonbury? It’s the first time I’ve ever been and its pretty awesome. What are you looking forward to seeing? When I got the job the one thing I wanted to see was Radiohead – and they were absolutely amazing. I’ve got a day off on Sunday and I’m looking forward to seeing Biffy Clyro, and London Grammar. What has been your favourite moment so far? When you watch it on TV it’s all about the music, but there’s so much more happening. One night we went to see an after-hours circus show at gone midnight. It was incredible, with performers swallowing swords and firing electricity out of their fingertips. Name: Kaptin Barrett Age: 40 From: Cardiff What are you doing at the festival: Our group Big Swing Sound are having a sound clash with Team Vintage Remix on Sunday evening. What does it entail? There’s a new stage in Shangri La called The Clash stage, each team has to basically out do the music of the other one. We’ll be going up against Glastonbury legend Chris Tofu in his area so it’s going to be a tough one. Or short answer – we basically have to play better music then the other team! What’s the best thing about your job? Making people very happy. What’s the vibe like there at the moment? Exceptional, it’s a fantastic vibe. What do you love about Glastonbury? For a music lover there’s no other place quite like it, it’s truly magical at times. What are you looking forward to seeing? I’m really looking forwards to seeing Tribe Called Red and Welsh DJ Earl Jeffers.
