KYLE MCDONAGH The burglar was caught after his fingerprin­ts were found on a biscuit tin. He then went on the run and posted pictures and messages to police on his Facebook page. NIGEL WADE PADDOCK Described by police as a “depraved paedophile”, the pensioner was jailed for 15 years. Paddock, from Tonypandy, was found guilty of nine charges, which included rape, sexual assault of a child under 13, causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity and engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child. MATTHEW WHELAN The thug was jailed for 20 years after admitting robbery and the attempted murder of Imtiaz ul Haq. The court heard how he stabbed the shopkeeper in the throat in what was described as a “cowardly, frenzied and sustained” attack. TREMAINE JEANNE AND LEIGHTON SIMM The pair were sentenced for their part in a dispute that involved a brick and hammer. Tremaine’s dad, former Cardiff City footballer Leon Jeanne, was also involved. Judge Philip Harris-Jenkins described the defendants as “three idiots”. JOHN FURY The Cardiff man threatened a dog seller with a knife and made threats to blow up her neighbour’s house in an “absurd” row over pedigree documents. Cardiff Crown Court heard that firearms officers and a dog unit were called when Fury climbed on to a roof as police tried to arrest him. SADDAM MIAH The 26-year-old who went out to celebrate not going to prison ended up going to prison after he got drunk and smashed up property. Miah went out for drinks after avoiding an immediate prison sentence when he was convicted in May at Newport Crown Court of supplying the Class A drug heroin. NATHAN SAUNDERS The call centre worker who downloaded IS terrorist publicatio­ns and instructio­ns on how to make explosive substances was jailed. He pleaded guilty at the Central Criminal Court to five counts of possessing a record of informatio­n likely to be useful committing or preparing an act of terrorism. LUCAS SPELLMAN The 47-year-old who downloaded images of children as young as four being sexually abused was sent to prison. He admitted making indecent pictures and videos of children and was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court . MARK MAXWELL The “dangerous” pervert admitted groping women in Penarth. Maxwell admitted to police he had been committing similar assaults for nine years. DEAN SHAW Shaw, 38, broke into his estranged wife’s home and beat her with a baseball bat in a savage night-time attack. IVOR GIFFORD The 92-year-old became Britain’s oldest paedophile when he was jailed. The RAF veteran learnt how to use the Waplog internet chatrooms in a bid to meet an 11-yearold girl for sex. RACHYON MCPHERSON, EMMA COX AND DANIEL GIBBS McPherson and Cox were caught selling heroin and crack cocaine on Cardiff streets. Gibbs pleaded guilty to possession of heroin and of per- mitting his property for the use of class A drugs CHRISTOPHE­R WILLIAMS The former warehouse manager was jailed for stealing thousands of pounds’ worth of goods. He pleaded guilty to one count of theft after he stole kitchen and bathroom supplies belonging to Grand Taps Ltd. ANTHONY MADU The doctor, who fraudulent­ly claimed tens of thousands of pounds from the NHS while claiming he was too sick to work, was jailed because he failed to repay the money. He was a former specialist registrar in obstetrics and gynaecolog­y who had been employed by Cardiff and Vale University Health Board. JOSH BOYES The sneak burglar broke into homes while the victims were in their gardens, stealing bank cards, cash and a four-wheel drive vehicle. He admitted three house burglaries, two frauds, theft and taking a vehicle from a Mostyn farm. JAMES DAVIES, ANTHONY BAINES, MARK ENNIS AND JAKE MELIA The four were jailed for a total of more than 78 years for their part in the murder of Mark Mason. He was stabbed to death in the Home Bargains car park in Rhyl in October. A trial at Mold Crown Court had heard Mr Mason was killed as part of a drug “turf war” in the town. PASQUALE MINICHINI The Italian ticket tout was caught with fake Champions League final tickets after travelling 1,400 miles to Cardiff for the showpiece final. The 35-year-old was spotted by an offduty Italian police officer. He was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison at Cardiff Magistrate­s’ Court. NICHOLAS STRANGE The 34-year-old was sentenced to 10 years for supplying class A drugs and money laundering. A court heard he was the head of an organised crime group which smuggled drugs and cash between Ibiza and Wales. DRUGS DEALERS A total of 17 men were jailed for drugs offences in Newport. They had been arrested during a massive drugs operation that saw 250 police officers raid 14 addresses and make dozens of arrests. JEFFERY WAYNE BEVAN The burglar was given a 16-month sentence after pleading guilty to two burglary charges and one of theft. One of his victims was so upset by the burglary she sold the home which had been in her family for 50 years. CHRISTOPHE­R EDWARDS Edwards, of Wrexham Road, Rhostyllen near Wrexham, was locked up for 18 years for the repeated sexual abuse of a young girl. SAM ANDERSON The 26-year-old was jailed for maliciousl­y putting false profiles of two women on swingers and dating sites. Anderson – previously known as Sam Gedd – was sentenced to two years after a judge said it was time his victims had some protection from him. DANIEL PATRICK MARSHALL Marshall was jailed for distributi­ng a film of a teenage girl being sexually abused. Mold Crown Court heard he had distribute­d footage of the offence 24 times. NICLAS THOMAS OWEN AND RAIF’DAR DOREMITZWR The two men, who used a young boy as a “sexual plaything” nearly 20 years ago when they were a few years older than him, were jailed for five years each. Owen, 32, and Doremitzwr, 30, had denied indecently assaulting their victim between 1998 and 2002. DAVID WHILEY The burglar “ransacked” his elderly neighbour’s home in Cardiff and stole £3,000 worth of her possession­s to get money to buy heroin, a court heard. Whiley, 54, admitted burgling the property in Penylan. JASON BURNS The man with an “extensive” criminal record burgled a flat in Cardiff after tricking a police officer into helping him inside. Burns, 29, who had been before the courts for 155 previous offences, burgled two flats in 24 hours, stealing items including a laptop, passport and cash. ANTHONY WATSON He tried to hide from police in a cupboard but was caught and jailed after thousands of pounds’ worth of cocaine was recovered from his home. Watson was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison for possessing cocaine with intent to supply. THOMAS RICHARDS The drug dealer has been jailed after police officers found about £2,000 worth of cocaine in his bedroom. Richards, 27, admitted supplying the Class A drug and was sentenced at Cardiff Crown Court. MILES PACE The teenager was jailed after his fingerprin­ts were found on a package containing £5,000 worth of drugs that was thrown over a prison fence. The 18-year-old admitted getting drugs including cannabis and spice, as well as mobile phones, into HM Parc Prison in Bridgend shortly after visiting a family member inside.
