Wales On Sunday

How they rated

- BY CHRIS WATHAN

NEIL ETHERIDGE

Arguably his best game for Cardiff and vital as Leeds tried to push back after opener, claiming crosses well under pressure, tipping Lasogga shot onto post and brilliant save from Alioski.

BRUNO MANGA

Played at right back but was given first-half orders to get close to Hernandez wherever he wandered. Didn’t seem all too comfortable.

SEAN MORRISON (CAPT)

Didn’t have early impact but grew in significance. Took goal superbly and put in vital challenge at start of second-half to set tone for influential period.

SOL BAMBA

Got a little lucky when he lost Lasogga before striker hit bar and was fortunate again when suggestions he caught Jansson that led to the Leeds centre-back being stretchered off. Wasn’t so fortunate with the own goal. Recovered composure and made some key interventions to stem Leeds revival.

ARMAND TRAORE

First start less than 24 hours after his arrival from Nottingham Forest was confirmed. One or two lapses at the back but had a power and dynamism to get involved on counters, while work and cross to lead to opener was a great start.

MARKO GRUJIC

Offered a composed meance in front of the back four that Leeds couldn’t shake off. Improving with minutes and more up to pace with things, though needs to watch discipline. Gave the feeling he could have a big say in Cardiff’s fortunes between now and May.

JOE RALLS

While others tire, Ralls finds even more energy. Drove on and on, always looking for ball and ready to break up Leeds rhythm whenever required. Does so much for side.

CALLUM PATERSON

Pushed high in the midfield through the centre of the park and was all action. Took goal well, may have has another, set up Hoilett and Pilkington and didn’t give Leeds a moment’s peace.

GARY MADINE

Decent enough start from the new signing, showing great ability to hold up play, either troubling Leeds’ defenders or bringing teammates into game. No real chance to threaten goal.

YANIC WILDSCHUT

One or two flashes and showed willingness to drop deeper and stop Leeds attacking space, but too much failed to come off and made way early in second-half.
