LLANELLI suffered a setback to their hopes of securing the Nathaniel Car Sales Welsh League title when they slipped to a one-nil defeat at the hands of Undy Athletic at Stebonheat­h Park.

Paul Clayton was the scorer of the only goal after 76 minutes.

Penybont remain on top of the table despite being held to a goalless draw in an uninspirin­g battle with Goytre United at Bryntirion.

But the real beneficiar­ies of Llanelli’s defeat were in-form Afan Lido who overcame Cambrian and Clydach in the Rhondda.

Sean Hanbury and Elliot Thomas were on target for Lido as they moved to within a point of Penybont.

Cwmamman United sunk to the foot of the table when they lost 2-1 at home to Caerau Ely in a relegation battle while Leon Jacka bagged a brace as Taffs Well defeated Cwmbran Celtic 3-0.

STM Sports remain on top of the second division despite being trounced 4-0 by West End in Swansea.
