How they rated

- BY ANDREW GWILYM

ERWIN MULDER

Might have cause to be disappointed with the goal but this was another occasion where he kept Swansea in the game, did well to deny O’Dowda, Taylor and Eliasson. Distribution was also good and has proven to be a more than reliable performer.

CONNOR ROBERTS

Not as prominent as in midweek as he reverted to full- back duties. Had his hands full with Eliasson and little cover to help, but another solid performance from the full- back.

MIKE VAN DER HOORN ( CAPT)

The pace of Taylor gave the Dutchman a few uncomfortable moments, but also made a number of important challenges and clearance. Passing out from the back was poor though, often going aimlessly long. Will wonder how his header did not find the net.

JOE RODON

Continues to look assured for one so young. Had a couple of jittery moments, but adjusted from those moments to produce another good display.

MARTIN OLSSON

Like Roberts he finds himself with plenty to do with Swansea’s wingers pushed high up, improved after the break and poushed forward strongly at times, but like others lacked quality.

TOM CARROLL

An ineffective showing, one early driving run aside he was on the periphery. Unable to link play from his deep role and too easily hustled and shuffled off the ball.

JOEL ASORO

Started with one bright run but was well- managed by Lloyd Kelly and made little impact as the full- back’s strength easily kept him subdued and it was little surprise to see him withdrawn.

BERSANT CELINA

Worked the keeper with a free- kick and a low second- half strike, but also gave the ball away with regularity including a trio of occasions where he took major risks on the edge of his own box and was lucky to get away with them. Run off the ball easily at times.

BARRIE MCKAY

A little impatient with the ball on occasions, looking for passes or runs that were not on. When Swansea changed their shape late on he was more effective and began to ask real questions of Kelly.

OLI MCBURNIE

A lot of hard work and graft with little service for the striker. Hard to recall him having a real sight of goal, but a willing workhorse and a lot of his link play was good.

SUBSTITUTES

Jefferson Montero ( On for Carroll, 46) 6 A mixed bag, there were several instances where he made real headway as when setting up Celina’s chance, but ran up blind alleys with others. Matt Grimes ( On for Asoro, 46) 6 A decent showing, this time getting a chance in his favoured midfield role. Linked well with Montero and threatened with one ferocious drive. Leroy Fer ( On for McBurnie, 71) 7 Made a noticeable difference and gave Swansea more ballast in midfield, saw goal- bound strike deflected over. Managing his return is going to be hard with the impact he is having on games. Subs not used: Benda ( gk), James, Naughton, Baker- Richardson

BRISTOL CITY

Maenpaa; Hunt ( Pisano 83), Kalas, Webster, Kelly, Watkins ( O’Dowda 31), Pack Brownhill, Eliasson ( Peterson 80), Taylor, Weimann Not Used: Dasilva ( gk), Baker, Walsh, O’Leary Yellow Card: Watkins
