Man held after pedestrian is hurt in alleged hit-and-run
A MAN has been arrested after a pedestrian was seriously injured in an alleged hit-and-run in Cardiff.
A 24-year-old man was taken to the University Hospital of Wales with life- threatening injuries after he was allegedly hit by a vehicle on Caerphilly Road in Cardiff just after 1am yesterday.
Police have now arrested a 44-year- old man, from Cardiff, in connection with the incident.
He has been arrested on suspicion of driving without due care and attention, driving while under the influ- ence of alcohol and failing to stop at the scene of an accident.
Officers from South Wales Police and ambulance crews were called to the scene in the early hours of the morning. An eye witness said: “Caerphilly Road was cut off near Sweet Pea Nursery.
“There were about two police vans and about four or five cars.”
