SWINGERS CLUB ‘OVERWHELMED BY POPULARITY’

- WILL HAYWARD Reporter will.hayward@walesonline.co.uk

C ARDIFF’S only swingers’ club has had to change its entrance policy because it has been overwhelmed by demand.

Number 19, which is based at West Bute Street in Cardiff Bay, opened its doors in August.

Set over four floors, it includes five playrooms “catered to various tastes”, showers, baths and a lockable cage with straps and whips.

There are also plans for a fully functional dungeon.

Originally it was open to any member of the public, with single women getting in for free, couples paying £25, and single men paying £40.

However, according to the owner, the venue has been so popular they are having to move to a “members only” model.

Speaking to WalesOnline, she said: “I am really pleased and surprised about how popular it has been. I didn’t realise it was such a close community and it was so widespread.

“Because of how many people who have been coming through the doors I have had to introduce a members-only policy from Monday, September 10.

“This will mean we can provide a the best experience for our members and also safeguard them.”

She also hinted that there could be another club on the horizon elsewhere in Wales if the current trend continues.

She said: “It has taken a lot of work to get it up and running but if it continues like this I will consider opening one in another Welsh city.

“Everyone who has come is so down to earth and friendly. They know what they want and just want to enjoy themselves.”

The success of the club is in part down to the recent explosion of the Welsh swinging scene.
