RGC won an eight-try thriller at St Helen’s thanks to the reliable boot of fly-half Billy McBryde.

It was a positive start for the visitors and a poor error by Nathan Trowbridge on his own line let Tom Hughes in for a soft try under the posts. McBryde converted.

Just minutes later, the lead was doubled when Efan Jones went over. McBryde converted.

An outstanding move by the Swansea backline saw Owen Morgan pop up in midfield to power over for a try. Foard Cooksley converted. But the North Walian side responded immediately when Sam Jones scored in the corner. McBryde converted.

Swansea were soon back on the front foot and a quick penalty sent J Rhys Williams crashing over for a try.

The Whites were quick out of the blocks after the interval and R Rhys Williams danced through a couple of tackles to score.

The visitors retook the lead with a McBryde penalty goal after the Swansea defence strayed offside in midfield and he added another soon after.

Replacement scrum-half Cam Davies sealed victory in style after an RGC scrum marched forward and he was able to score. McBryde converted.

In the dying seconds, the Whites went in search for a brace of bonus points and they were rewarded with a pushover try for Paul John. But Cooksley failed to add a second when he missed the conversion. SWANSEA: Tries: O Morgan, J R Williams, R R Williams, P John. Cons: F Cooksley (3).
