CWMBRAN Celtic moved to within two points of the summit in Nathaniel Car Sales Welsh League Division One after a 4-1 win over Ton Pentre.

Josh Bull, Tom O’Connor, Lewis Feeley and Owen Cook netted for Celtic with Alex Davies on the scoresheet for the visitors.

The scheduled top-of-the-table showdown between unbeaten leaders Penybont and Haverfordw­est County was one of four Division One matches postponed due to the weather.

Cambrian & Clydach were 1-0 home winners over Goytre United thanks to Dave Thomas’ 25th minute penalty – redemption for Thomas who had also missed a penalty only a few minutes earlier.

Undy Athletic were 2-1 home winners over Gwent side Goytre thanks to goals from Gareth Cullimore and Alex Jarman.

Afan Lido won by the same scoreline at Port Talbot Town with Sacha Walters and Liam McCreesh on the scoresheet. Dylan Thomas was the Steelmen’s scorer.

In Division Two, a brace from Gavin Withers along with goals from Ben Smith and Connor Hughes fired Caldicot Town to a 4-1 win at Garden Village – for whom Scott Smith netted.

There was a thriller at Monmouth who drew 3-3 with Swansea University. Leo Ross netted a hat-trick for Monmouth while Nick Hyden, Zack Knudson and Jack Howell grabbed the goals for the visitors.

Abergavenn­y Town were 3-0 winners over Dinas Powys thanks to efforts from Curtis Methven, Aaron Norman and Sean Feeley.

In Division Three, two goals from Tom Tweedy and another from James Gronow set high-flyers Pontyclun on their way to a 3-0 win over Treowen Stars.
