HOLDERS Trefelin BGC were at it again in the Nathaniel Car Sales Welsh League Cup – dumping out Briton Ferry Llansawel to reach the quarter-finals.

Division Three Trefelin, who stunned Llanelli Town to lift the cup last season, have already beaten higher division sides Cwmbran Celtic and Dinas Powys in their own backyards this season.

And they remain on course to defend it after pulling off a stunning 1-0 win at Division One outfit Briton Ferry in their third round tie.

Jordan Edwards headed the only goal of the match from a Damon Thomas free-kick on the stroke of half time.

Both sides finished the game with 10 men as Trefelin’s Joseph Jones and Ferry’s Lee Bevan were both given their marching orders.

Joining Trefelin in the last eight are Division One leaders Penybont, who continued their bid for a league and cup double with a 2-1 win at Cwmamman United.

Haverfordwest County are also through after goals from Ben Fawcett, Lee Trundle and Ashley Bevan saw them to a 3-1 home victory over Llantwit Major.

Elsewhere Morgan Thomas and Keane Watts netted to send Port Talbot Town through after a 2-0 win over Aberbargoed Buds while Chris Colvin was at the double as Penydarren BGC won by the same scoreline at Pontyclun to book their place in the last eight.

STM Sports went through with a 3-0 home victory against Garden Village while Undy Athletic edged out Nathaniel MG Cup semi-finalists Cambrian & Clydach. Ryan Hudson scored twice for Undy with Dan Jarman getting the other goal.
