AMAN who murdered his wife and then tried to make it look like suicide, drug dealers and two brothers who attacked a neighbour after watching a Conor McGregor fight are among those who have been sent to jail this week.

There is also the “sick and disgusting” attack on a 94-year-old woman by robbers who only got away with £10 and scratchcards. Take a look here at the criminals and their crimes... DEREK POTTER He murdered his wife and then tried to make it look like a suicide, but his crime was uncovered when he confessed to a woman he had been working with. Now, he is set to spend a minimum of 17 years in jail. COREY MCDONALD The thug took off his top to mop up the blood after he “smashed his girlfriend’s face in”. The 23-year-old unleashed a vicious attack on his former partner near his home in Pontypridd. IAN JONATHAN THOMAS AND KATIE MARIE ADAMS Described as “animals” in court, the two drug addicts mugged a defenceless 94-yearold woman in the street. They knocked her to the ground and stole her handbag, containing just £10 and a couple of scratchcards Jean Hughes had just bought, in what was called a “sick and disgusting” attack. CHRISTOPHER AND JAMES O’DRISCOLL The brothers had been drinking through the night while watching a Conor McGregor fight and attacked a man in the street when he told them to keep quiet. They became violent and aggressive towards their neigh- bour Andrew Jones, who approached them about the noise they were making. BEN ALLEY AND AHMED HASSAN Police swooped on the drug dealers as they stopped their car to supply users who were waiting for a delivery. Teenager Hassan had come from London to deal heroin and crack cocaine, and the other was Swansea man Alley, who knew the area. DANIEL ASH Jailed for four months after he was caught pleasuring himself as he followed an elderly lady down the street. The court heard he has “around 20 urges a day” and usually satisfies those indoors – but on occasions does so when out and about. THOMAS JENKINS A respected Jehovah’s Witness, he has been jailed for subjecting a girl to years of sexual abuse. The 74-year-old denied repeatedly indecently assaulting the girl in the 1970s, but was found guilty by a jury at Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court after an hour’s deliberation. KRISTIAN THOMAS The 22-year-old smashed a metal pole into the face of a pubgoer in what was described in court as a random and motiveless attack. The victim suffered a fractured eye socket and cheek bones in the assault and is awaiting tests to see if his eyesight has been permanently affected. NICHOLAS BAYNHAM The court heard he had turned to dealing heroin and crack cocaine so he could fund a legal fight. When police searched the 30-year-old’s caravan they found thousands of pounds’ worth of Class A drugs along with mobile phones containing messages about dealing. GULLED ALIN The Swansea University student was sentenced to 12 months in prison for witness intimidation. He tried to intimidate his partner into dropping an assault charge. ALEX PHIPPS Jailed for smashing a woman’s head on a takeaway counter and throwing a bottle of wine at the owner after complaints were made about his partner jumping the queue. The 36-year-old was out drinking with his partner Soraya Maxey at the Claude pub in Cardiff while seeing in the New Year. On the way home, they popped into Chickoland in Albany Road just after 1am when the attack happened. ADAM CLARKE The drunken thug who headbutted a police sergeant has been jailed for 34 weeks. Sgt Arwyn Jones was concussed, his glasses broken, had a split lip and needed dental treatment after the attack on Bangor High Street, Caernarfon crown court heard. GERAINT KRISTOPHER JONSON The unrepentant paedophile was given a 10-year extended sentence after being caught engaging in sickening sexual conversations with young girls online. Jonson also had scores of indecent images and videos on his computers and mobile phone.
