JD CYMRU NORTH

-

PRESTATYN Town moved seven points clear in JD Cymru North after winning 3-0 at Gresford.

Jordan Davies set them on their way after eight minutes with second half goals from Macauley Taylor and Rob Hughes securing maximum points for the 15th time in 18 league games so far this term.

Nearest challengers Flint Town United were left kicking themselves after throwing away a 2-0 lead and having to settle for a point after eventually drawing 2-2 at Conwy Borough.

Mark Cadwallader and Nathan Brown found the net to put Flint two up after 15 minutes but they were pegged back by Corrig McGonigle eight minutes later – and it was the same player who levelled matters three minutes from time.

Colwyn Bay, who were held to a goalless draw at home by Llangefni Town, are seven points further back in third and now ahead of Llanrhaeadr – who won 2-1 at Corwen – only on goal difference.

Joe Vaughan and Khyam Whyton scored in the first half to send Llanrhaeadr on their way with Joe Williams replying for Corwen after the break.

Jacob Farleigh’s goal was the difference for Llandudno who won 1-0 at Rhyl while there was a dramatic finish at Ruthin who drew 1-1 with Guilsfield.

Llyr Morris looked to have secured all three points for Ruthin with an 89th minute penalty – only for Rob James to snatch a leveller for Guilsfield in added time.

Elsewhere goals from Jonathan Evans, Jack Rimmer and Ifan Burrell fired Penrhyncoch to a 3-1 home win over Llanfair United, while the game between Buckley Town and Bangor City was postponed.
