AWELSH woman who dresses up as Disney and superhero characters has wowed TikTok users by posting a video lip syncing to former Girls Aloud star Cheryl – and people can’t get over how much she looks like the singer.

Sian Thomas is no stranger to dressing up as well known characters. Her business, Fairytale Moments, sees her visiting children on birthdays and other occasions as their favourite characters.

But due to lockdown restrictions preventing her from working, the 31-year-old, who lives in Penllergaer, Swansea, decided to start posting videos on social media app TikTok, where she now has nearly 300,000 followers.

Recently, she decided to reply to a comment from someone who said “legit thought that was Cheryl Cole”.

Sian responded by posting a video lip syncing to the Girls Aloud star talking.

“I just thought, ‘you know what I’m just going to do a reaction video’ because someone was like ‘is this Cheryl?’ so I found a sound of Cheryl on TikTok and I mimed it and that blew up.

“Now after doing that, every video I post people are like ‘it’s Cheryl’. It’s funny.

“Even in character someone said ‘ omg it’s Cheryl as Wonder Woman’ or Cheryl as Lara Croft.”

Commenting on the video which has had nearly 800,000 views, one TikTok user quipped: “You look more like Cheryl Cole than Cheryl Cole.”

In 2018, Sian sent a snap of herself into daytime show This Morning after they put a call-out for celebrity lookalikes. Viewers were left stunned by her resemblance to the Say My Name star.

“Cheryl is something that made me grow a little bit on Instagram when it went viral before. After that I didn’t really bother with the Cheryl stuff.

“But when I was doing videos on TikTok I was getting the odd comment here and there and I was just laughing it off and it started getting more and more, it just follows me everywhere.

“I do get a few trolls as well, people were saying ‘the teeth gave it away’. I’m not Cheryl I’m not going to have her teeth or nose, people just think we look similar.

“Disney and superhero is my niche but I was thinking I should do Cheryl videos as well, people are starting to request if I can dress up and do ‘Fight For This Love’ dance.

“One of the best things that ever came from it, I went on the Jimmy Carr show ‘Your Face or Mine’ in 2018.

“A woman rang me and said ‘we are looking for a Cheryl lookalike to go on the show’ and that was such a good experience.

“I have never had her notice me but I would love to meet her,” she added.

Talking about how she managed to gain a large following on TikTok, Sian admitted she didn’t expect it to grow.

“I had TikTok on my phone for ages, before it was big. When we went into lockdown I thought I’d give it go. Then I thought I am going to do a cosplay one and it started from there and I just got addicted. I thought I’m just going to put my costume on, like Harlequin or Ariel, it just went from there and I loved it.

“There was nothing to do and it was all new to everyone being stuck in so I was constantly wanting to post loads of different videos; it’s such a great platform and you can grow quite fast on there.

“The first one that went viral was my Aurora video: all of a sudden that blew up and from then on I kept having loads of followers. It’s insane how quickly my following went up, at one point I think I went up 40,000 followers in such a short space of time.”

The 31-year-old said one of the reasons why she loves the platform is because it gives her the chance to act out her favourite Disney scenes.

She added: “I did an Elsa from Frozen one, that went crazy and I really like the Lara Croft one, I think that may be my favourite one.

“A Cinderella one went crazy as well. It is really rewarding, I get a lot of children duet my videos and it shows their reaction and that really makes my day.

“I get a lot of messages from people saying ‘thank you for your videos, my daughter watches you all the time’.
