Dragons pay a moving tribute to academy player

-

THE Dragons have paid tribute to young academy player Ross Mohring, who has died.

In moving scenes, the Dragons and Leinster players observed a minute’s silence before Friday night’s PRO14 match to show their respect.

Ross, a Bassaleg School product and talented cricketer, passed away earlier this week.

Coach Dean Ryan said of the young centre’s death: “It is a tragic situation. It is one of the Dragons family and their extended family that is feeling that pain.

“We’re only just understanding what difficulties people are having during this period. For it to be such a young member of our region is just tragic.

“We’ve got to look after everybody – that’s the message.

“I don’t think you can make assumptions everyone is OK because we’re all in a space we’ve never been in before.

“We’re all experiencing things we’ve never done before. We’ve got to ensure we’re looking out for everyone.”
