Pilots killed in jet crash

TWO US Air Force pilots have been killed after a trainer jet crashed near an Alabama airport, the military branch confirmed.

The crash involved a T-38 trainer aircraft assigned to the 14th Flying Training Wing at Columbus Air Force Base in Mississipp­i.

Officials from the 14th Flying Training Wing confirmed in a news release that both pilots aboard the aircraft were killed.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the two pilots involved in this incident,” Colonel Seth Graham, 14th Flying Training Wing commander said in a released statement on Friday.

The names of the pilots are being withheld until the families are notified.
