Q I have an indoor mini olive tree – how do I care for it?

Caroline Fagan, via Instagram A The olive is a classic Mediterranean plant and loves a bit of sun, so try to keep it in the brightest position you have – near a south-facing window would be perfect. But don’t put leaves against the glass as they can scorch. Now we are in spring, the growing season, you can feed it every month with a general-purpose liquid feed.

You should neither over or under-water an olive – let the top inch or so of the compost completely dry out between waterings. As olives are used to dry weather, they don’t require humidity or misting.
