Fulham goal aces are at it again in victory over Hull

-

ALEKSANDAR Mitrovic and Fabio Carvalho both scored for the third consecutive game as Fulham moved top of the Championship with a comfortable win against Hull.

Mitrovic headed home from a corner midway through the first half, with teenager Carvalho doubling the Whites’ advantage 10 minutes later.

Fulham were unable to add to their tally, but were rarely troubled by the Tigers, who slid to their third consecutive defeat.

The victory maintained an unbeaten start to the season for Marco Silva’s side and put them ahead of West Brom and Stoke on goal difference.

West Bromwich Albion made it three wins from four to maintain their excellent start to the Championship season with a 2-1 victory at Blackburn Rovers, with only goal difference keeping them off the summit.

The platform was laid at the beginning and end of the first 45 minutes, thanks to a thumping first-minute volley from Alex Mowatt from the edge of the box, and Matt Phillips’ tap-in late in the half.

Although Ben Brereton Diaz continued his own bright start to the campaign by pulling one back for Rovers in the second period following a mistake by Sam Johnstone in clearing his lines, it was a scoreline which flattered the hosts.

Josh Tymon’s first league goal earned Stoke City a deserved victory over Nottingham Forest, who suffered a fourth consecutive defeat.

Tymon, making his 50th appearance in English league football, drove low into the net despite the best efforts of Forest keeper Brice Samba.

Stoke had dominated with Samba holding a Tommy Smith shot and doing brilliantly to deny Steven Fletcher, minutes before Tymon’s goal.

Forest failed to register a shot on target and are now bottom of the Championship.

Substitute Matty Godden grabbed a 98th-minute winner as Coventry City came from behind to defeat Reading.

Fellow sub Jamie Allen had scored an equaliser with his first touch earlier in the second half after John Swift’s penalty had put the visitors ahead.

The hosts have won three of their four games, their best start in the second tier for 14 years.

Charlie Austin grabbed an added-time goal as unbeaten QPR came from 2-0 down to rescue a point against Barnsley at the Kiyan Prince Foundation

The striker beat keeper Brad Collins from Yoann Barbet’s cross after Ilias Chair had brought Rangers back into the game with an individual effort.

Having done the double in the previous two seasons, the Yorkshire side had gone ahead early as Dominik Frieser beat the offside trap and drilled the ball past Seny Dieng.

Captain Cauley Woodrow then scored his 50th goal for the club, but they were pushed back as Rangers dominated after the break and Austin’s goal earned a deserved draw.

Elsewhere, Bournemouth drew 2-2 with Blackpool.
