BRANDON Cooper is set to join Swindon Town on loan for the remainder of the season.

The Wales Under-21 international has struggled to get regular first team action at Swansea City of late and is now set to finish off the campaign in League Two.

Cooper excelled during his stint with Newport County last term and will hope to play a key role in Swindon’s promotion bid.

It comes as Swansea edge closer to completing the loan signing of Finley Burns from Manchester City.

Sporting director Mark Allen - who previously worked in the Citizens’ academy - has held regular talks with those at the Etihad Stadium over a link-up between the two clubs.

And centre-back Burns is expected to be announced as a Swansea player this afternoon.

Meanwhile, the Swans have enquired about taking Bristol City’s Nakhi Wells on loan for the rest of the season, according to The Telegraph.

Russell Martin is keen to add a striker to his ranks before Monday’s 11pm deadline, and 31-year-old Wells could be available on a shortterm deal.

Swansea have good ties with the Ashton Gate outfit having signed the likes of Korey Smith, Liam Walsh and Jamie Paterson from the Robins in recent years.

He has scored just once in 22 appearances in all competitions for Bristol City so far this term, although he bulged the net on 11 occasions last season.

Elsewhere, the Swans have rejected a pair of bids from Queens Park Rangers for Paterson.

It’s understood the club would accept a fee in the region of £750,000 for the 30-year-old - who is contracted to the club until the summer of 2023.

Swansea are also aiming to add a left wing-back to their ranks in the final stages of the winter window.

Yan Dhanda is also set to leave the club on loan, with Burton Albion and Crewe Alexandra among those interested in the attacker.
