Storm Brewing at Fontwell

-

BREWIN’UPASTORM can maintain his fruitful association with the Betgoodwin National Spirit Hurdle at Fontwell.

The 10-year-old won the race in 2021 and missed out by just a head last year, just getting reeled in by Botox Has in the shadow of the post.

Brewin’upastorm has been struggling for form a bit so far this term, coming home a distant second to Goshen in the Coral Hurdle at Ascot before being beaten over 18 lengths when fifth in the Relkeel at Cheltenham on New Year’s Day.

The latter run was over an extended two and a half miles in testing conditions, but the Olly Murphy-trained gelding returns to two miles and three furlongs here on better ground.

He also gets a handy 6lb from each of his four rivals in a race he is evidently prepared for each year.

Fable is the pick in the Download The Betgoodwin App Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase.

Edged into second on her first attempt over fences, Fable then came unstuck on deep ground at Ffos Las, being pulled up by Nico de Boinville when it was evident she would be taking no hand in the finish.

Back on good ground at Bangor earlier this month, Fable showed her true ability in beating Effernock Fizz by three-quarters of a length, with the runner up subsequently winning at Ludlow earlier this week to give the form a boost.

Goodwin Racing looks more than capable of breaking his duck in the Free Bet Nose Losers At Betgoodwin ‘National Hunt’ Novices’ Hurdle.

Placed on each of two bumper starts, he made a decent debut over obstacles at Plumpton at the end of last month, coming home second.

Cabrakan can extend this season’s purple patch in the Vickers.Bet Handicap Hurdle at Hereford.

He has won two of his four starts for Milton Harris so far, placing second on the other two occasions.
