EASTER PARADE Today, BBC2, 12pm

When his dance partner Nadine (Ann Miller) announces she’s going solo, Don Hewes (Fred Astaire) decides to prove he can make it without her by picking a chorus girl at random and transformi­ng her into a star. Hannah Brown (Judy Garland) takes the act to new heights thanks to her great voice and girl-next-door charm. But will Don ever see her as anything more than a replacemen­t for Nadine? The plot is thin, but the stars are on compelling form and some of the big musical numbers – notably A Couple of Swells and Steppin’ Out With My Baby – are unforgetta­ble.

THE GRADUATE Tomorrow, BBC2, 9.45pm

Benjamin Braddock (Dustin Hoffman) has graduated from college and is back at his parents’ home for the summer. He wants to get into bed with sexy neighbour Mrs Robinson (Anne Bancroft, pictured with Hoffman), but it soon becomes clear that her daughter Elaine (Katharine Ross) holds the key to his heart.

GALAXY QUEST Tuesday, Film4, 6.45pm

The stars of a cancelled sci-fi show are still in demand at convention­s. But some of their biggest fans are a group of aliens who believe their show to be a historical document. When the creatures are targeted by the evil General Sarris, they turn to the actors for help. A top-flight cast includes Sigourney Weaver and Alan Rickman, left.

On April 15, 2013, hundreds of lives were irrevocabl­y altered in Boston when two homemade explosives detonated close to the finish line of the city’s marathon. Stronger relives the attack from the perspectiv­e of Boston native Jeff Bauman (Jake Gyllenhaal, left), who was in the crowd that day and lost both legs in the blast.

THE BURNT ORANGE HERESY Thursday, Film4, 9pm

While visiting Europe, art critic James Figueras (Claes Bang) and American Berenice Hollis (Elizabeth Debicki, left with Bang) visit the estate of art collector Joseph Cassidy (Mick Jagger). James is asked to procure a new work signed by one of America’s greatest living painters (Donald Sutherland) who resides in a guesthouse on site.

NO TIME TO DIE Friday, ITV2, 8pm

James Bond (Daniel Craig, left) bids adieu to MI6, but a tranquil new life in Jamaica is threatened by the arrival of CIA friend Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright) who needs Bond’s help. The mission pits Bond against MI6 agent Nomi (Lashana Lynch) but rivalries are quickly put to one side to defeat Machiavell­ian mastermind Safin (Rami Malek).

The Starship Avalon launches, loaded with 258 crew and 5,000 passengers in deep sleep, bound for a distant world. A meteor shower causes a computer malfunctio­n, waking Jim Preston and Aurora Dunn (Chris Pratt, Jennifer Lawrence, left) 90 years prematurel­y. Romance soon sparks but a shocking secret undermines their relationsh­ip.
