Star hits back over break-up rumours

-

POPULAR Welsh drag queen and Dancing On Ice star The Vivienne has shut down rumours that her marriage break-up was a result of her friendship with her Dancing on Ice professional partner.

The star, who confirmed on Friday that she and husband David had split up, issued an update to put an end to speculation that her partnership with pro ice-dancer Colin Grafton was to blame.

Adding a comment to her earlier post on Instagram, The Vivienne wrote: “And just everybody knows as I’m already seeing tweets. This has nothing do with Colin my Dancing On Ice partner. We are very good friends and never involved romantically, Colin is in a relationship. Thank you”.

The comment comes after some jumped onto The Vivienne’s earlier post announcing her break-up – and blamed the so-called ‘Dancing on Ice curse.’

Earlier, The Vivienne confirmed she and her husband had split up, but said the pair remain friends and “wish each [other] the absolute best”.

“As many may have noticed, David and I have been apart recently. We have made the decision to part ways after an amazing five and a half years,” The Vivienne said.

“We are still very much friends, but sometimes life gets in the way and people grow apart. We wish each the absolute best and will always be part of each other’s lives. We’d ask that you please respect our privacy at this time. Thank you. James and David.”

The Vivienne, full name James Lee Williams, was born and raised in Colwyn Bay in Conwy and moved to Liverpool at 16.

The Vivienne chose her name because she was known for wearing Vivienne Westwood clothing.

In May 2015, The Vivienne was crowned the UK Ambassador of RuPaul’s Drag Race and later won the first series of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.
