WALES’ first “supercar cafe” has just opened in Cardiff. P1NK – The Supercar Hangout has opened its doors in Sloper Road and was founded by supercar enthusiast and businesswoman Lisa Marie Brown and her husband Leon Brown.

Lisa is the director of P1NK Motorsports and Supercars, which proclaims itself Wales’ biggest supercar community with over 450 members.

“The idea behind the cafe is that people with a passion for motorsports and supercars can come together,” she said.

“We also want to encourage and inspire the next generation, and encourage women and girls to get involved in motorsport. We’re doing quite a bit of work at the moment with F1 to encourage more women into motorsport and we’re collaborating as well with Calum Best as an ambassador to champion encouraging more women into motorsport.”

Inside the hangout is parked Lisa’s very own limited edition pink McLaren 600LT, and other pink supercars on site include a Ferrari California and a Porsche Panamera.

The coffee shop also has a live F1 gaming station, a large TV screen for customers to watch motor racing, as well as supercar merchandise. And for those more interested in the food and drink, the hangout also has a pink custom made coffee machine and bites to eat.

Entrepreneur Lisa, who is behind the UK’s first pink Ferrari, said she envisioned for the space to be the UK’s number one supercar hotspot on the weekends for meet-up events. The cafe’s premises can currently accommodate up to 40 supercars and from next month it will host DJs and local performers every Saturday.

Lisa is also behind the company Pinkspiration, which has its office above the hangout and runs projects to mentor and train young people to get involved in business. She strives to change stereotypes and encourage other young women to take leading roles in the motorsports, engineering and tech industries in particular.

“Working in a male-dominated environment can be challenging and can be quite demanding... it’s just about encouraging people to keep pushing and keep progressing and moving forward,” she said.

“Supercars are a traditionally male-dominated world and it’s nice to see young women in this industry.

We want to encourage other women to lead the way and push through any boundaries or barriers they may face.”
