James Bond’s third mission sees
M (Bernard Lee) entreat 007 (Sean
Connery) to keep a close eye on bullion-obsessed entrepreneur Auric Goldfinger (Gert Frobe) and his henchman Oddjob (Harold Sakata). Slowly, Bond learns about Operation Grand Slam, a daring plot to infiltrate the US gold reserves at Fort Knox and render the stores worthless with an atomic bomb. Sexy pilot Pussy Galore (Honor Blackman), who heads the Flying Circus which is key to Goldfinger’s plans, has to decide where her loyalties lie – with Auric or in bed with James.

JOJO RABBIT Tomorrow, Film4, 9pm
In this daring comedy drama, Hitler Youth member Johannes Betzler (Roman Griffin Davis) can’t bring himself to kill a rabbit during training, so leans on unusual imaginary friend, the Fuhrer (Taika Waititi, left with Davis) for advice. The 10-year-old’s life gets even more complicated when a Jewish girl (Thomasin McKenzie) is found hiding in his house.

JUNGLELAND Tuesday, Film4, 9pm
The bonds between two siblings are tested in this hard-hitting drama. Lion (Jack O’Connell) fights in underground bare-knuckle boxing matches while his brother Stanley (Charlie Hunnam) acts as his promoter. A lucrative bout in San Francisco is tantalisingly out of reach until a crime boss (Jonathan Majors) offers the pair a dubious deal.

This sci-fi reboot puts a fresh spin on the backstory of James T Kirk. As the Enterprise crew tackle the villainous Nero, an aged face from the future helps them on their quest. Kirk (Chris Pine, left) crosses paths with a few familiar faces, but it’s his uneasy alliance with half-Vulcan Spock (Zachary Quinto) that forms the backbone of the drama.

SUMMER HOLIDAY Thursday, BBC4, 10.50pm
Cliff Richard stars in this musical comedy as Don, left, a mechanic who is planning to set off on a trip across Europe with three of his mates in an old London double-decker bus. But they don’t count on crashing into a group of female rock musicians, or a US pop star who is looking to escape the Press and her overbearing mother.

THE PROPOSAL Friday, ITV, 10.45pm
Book editor Margaret Tate (Sandra Bullock) is feared by all, including her assistant Andrew (Ryan Reynolds, left with Bullock). Threatened with deportation to Canada when her visa expires, she forces Andrew to agree to marry her, telling him they can get divorced once she has her citizenship. But ice queen Margaret soon thaws.

THE TERMINAL

Tom Hanks (left) stars as an Eastern European en route to America who is stranded at JFK Airport after a coup in his native country means he can neither return home nor set foot on the streets of New York. Stuck indefinitely inside the terminal, he sets out to make a life for himself in this enjoyable comedy from director Steven Spielberg.
