KFC delivery all goes to pot after cop stop

-

POLICE in North Wales have “apologised” to the intended recipients of a KFC meal they’d ordered – after the meal was detained along with the delivery driver.

The driver was arrested on Friday after being spotted without a seatbelt.

North Wales Police said that, on further inspection and a roadside test, the driver then tested positive for cannabis.

The force’s North Flintshire team was quick to point out the KFC order had not been reappropriated by officers.

A spokesperson said: “We would like to apologise to whoever’s KFC delivery was cancelled this afternoon. Before anyone asks, the food remained in the suspect’s vehicle and didn’t end up back at the station!”

On sharing the arrest on social media, users were “gutted for the people still waiting forlornly for their KFC meal. One woman urged the team: “At least personally deliver the KFC to the delivery address, they’ll be hungry by now.”

Others were surprised the officers hadn’t succumbed to temptation. In a light-hearted quip, one man said: “Whatever, you guys ate it, come on. Everyone loves a KFC!”

The team shared a photograph of the roadside tests and explained how it works, detailing how a top line of the test is the control line (CL), which indicates the test has worked correctly, and the bottom line is the test line (TL), which indicates if the test is positive.

A spokesperson explained: “The test has both control lines, indicating it worked correctly, and one test line for cannabis, which indicates a positive.

“So on this occasion, no reading of cocaine – although sometimes we do get drivers under the influence of both!”
