Opening next month at Amsterdam photography museum Foam, ‘Feast for the Eyes’ offers a rich history of food photography, from 19th-century still-lifes and vintage cookbooks to conceptual art. There’s plenty pre-dating the #foodie generation, showing just how long people have been obsessed with capturing what they eat, in all its glorious forms. Consider this jelly recreation of the dancefloor in Saturday Night Fever, photographed by Grant Cornett, or the slightly absurd Watermelon/bread by Robert Cumming.
